Stellar Nail Polish Swatches & Review

Hello everybody! Today I have six new shades from Stellar Nail Polish to show you. They are all from a collection of Christmas themed polishes and, as with all Stellar Nail Polishes, they are named after songs. Info on when and where to buy will be at the end of this post, so keep reading!

Stellar Nail Polish "Walking In The Air"

"Walking In The Air" is a navy jelly with silver holo moons and white snowflakes. I had to do a fair bit of fishing and placement to get a good distribution of bits, which is to be expected of a polish of this type, and as I have a very tight C curve, they don't lie flat on my nails but this is not something which bothers me. The jelly base is pigmented enough to cover my nails with two coats whilst still retaining that deep, squishy, jelly look. Pictures show two coats & top coat.

Stellar Nail Polish "Rockin' Robin"

"Rockin' Robin" is a reddy orange tinted jelly base with orange and green glitters of varying shapes and sizes. The glitter is distributed very well and there was no need for fishing, it applied easily like a regular glitter polish. The base is a little sheer but the glitter is dense enough to cover any VNL. Pictures show two coats & top coat.
**Please note: the version of this polish which was sent to me for review has since suffered from glitter bleeding issues. It will be reformulated before it is released for sale**

Stellar Nail Polish "Silent Night"

"Silent Night" consists of a clear base with small gold and green glitters. Density and distribution of glitters was perfect and it applied like a breeze. Pictures show two coats over a black base & top coat.

Stellar Nail Polish "O Holy Night"

"O Holy Night" is another clear-based glitter topper with a variety of different shapes and sizes of glitter in golden shades. Distribution and density of glitters was, again, very good. No real fishing was required, but I did swish my brush around in the bottle once before each nail, if you didn't want as much glitter pay-off then this won't be necessary. Pictures show two coats over a pale cream base & top coat.

Stellar Nail Polish "Winter Wonderland"

"Winter Wonderland" is a glitter topper with added chunky iridescent fleck shimmer. As you can see there are large blue, red, and purple dots, and black stars. I had to do a bit of fishing to get enough bits on each nail, but other than that application was fine. Pictures show two coats over a pale blue base & top coat.

Stellar Nail Polish "Fairytale Of New York"

"Fairytale Of New York" (which is my favourite Christmas song!) is a red-toned purple jelly base with all kinds of very fine, sparkly glitters - I can see purple, blue, and silver. I can't tell if any of them are holographic or if they are all just super, super sparkly. The glitters were really packed in to the base, and application was easy. Because of the high density of glitters, it doesn't dry totally glassy smooth. You could apply two layers of top coat to smooth it out completely, but I personally wouldn't bother. Pictures show two coats & top coat.

My final thoughts on these polishes? Totally unique shades with good formulas which are festive and sparkly, but not too over-the-top Christmassy.

These polishes will be available to buy very soon from the Stellar Nail Polish Etsy Store. You can also keep up to date with news of new relesases etc. on the Stellar Nail Polish Facebook Page.

A 2 Z: E is for Elegant

Hello everybody! It's time for another A 2 Z blog post! This week's prompt is "E is for Elegant". I knew almost immediately what I would do for this manicure, and I was really pleased with how it turned out, so let's have a look!

I started with a base of Nails Inc "Pall Mall", a very pale pink with a pearly shimmer which I didn't think I would like until I actually tried it - turns out I love it!! I applied two coats:

Then, using Sally Hansen Hard As Nails French White Tip polish in "Natural White" and Born Pretty plate BP-08, I stamped a delicate floral pattern over the top of Pall Mall, and finished with top coat:

What do you think? In my brain, this is about as elegant as you could get, and I think this manicure would be perfect for a bride on her wedding day!

No mama Bean today I'm afraid, she is in the middle of a very busy week and hasn't had time to paint her nails. She will be back soon though :)

As always, you can check out the A 2 Z Blog Series Hub Page to see everybody else's contributions, and come back again next week for another installment.

A 2 Z: D is for Dark

Hello little loves! T'is Thursday, which can mean only one thing: A 2 Z day! This week's theme is brought to you by the letter D, for "Dark".

I had a last-minute change of mind about what I was going to do for this theme. My final choice was Moyra Sand Effect No. 855, a dark charcoal grey textured polish with subtle, fine gold and silver flecks. I applied two coats of this, with no base or top coat:

And then to finish, I stamped an ornate brocade-like image from MoYou London Fashionista plate 07 using AEngland "Excalibur Renaissance":

(Apologies for the inconsistent lighting, the first two pictures were lit by my daylight lamp, the second two by cloudy natural daylight)

And now it's mama Bean's turn! She applied two coats of Nails Inc "Motcomb Street", a very dark navy jelly, and them stamped an image from Cheeky plate CH4 using Sinful Colors "Snow Me White" for a dark starry sky effect:

As ever, don't forget to check the A 2 Z Blog Series Hub Page to see what everybody else is up to this week, and come back again next week for another installment!

A 2 Z: C Is For Copy Cat

Hey internet! Week three of our A 2 Z Blog Series is here, and we are on the letter C, which stands for the prompt "Copy Cat". As you are about to see, mama Bean and I have created the exact same manicure, but the question is: Did mama Bean copy me or did I copy mama Bean? Let's have a look!

We started with a base of Nfu.Oh "FS16" (which does have an alternate name but I can't remember it) - a neon purple - and stamped a lacy design from Born Pretty plate BP-02 using a white Sally Hansen polish.

Here am I:

Here is mama:

And here are both of us with our copy cat nails:

A 2 Z: B is for "Bold"

Hi there folks! Time for another installment of the A 2 Z Series. This week we are on the letter B, and B is for Bold! I have to confess this is a lazy, cheaty post from me. It's been a bit of a crappy week here and I am too tired to think of an original idea today, so I am recycling yesterday's manicure, which just so happens to be what I consider a very bold colour.

It's Colors By Llarowe "Gemini Rising", an insanely bright, saturated green linear holo which doesn't photograph accurately - it's even more vivid and amazing in reality. My pictures show two coats & top coat:

And now for Mama Bean's turn. She has chosen a bold white and red crackle design, using Sinful Colors "Snow Me White" as the base and OPI "Red Shatter" as the crackle, and finished with top coat:

As always, don't forget to check the A 2 Z Hub Page to see everybody else's posts, and come back again next week for another installment.
