A To Z: G is for Grosvenor Crescent

Hey friends! It's time for the next installment in the A to Z Blog Series, and this week we are on the letter G!

I have chosen a plain and simple one-polish manicure today using Nails Inc "Grosvenor Crescent", a rich, bright, blue-toned pink with the most divine creme formula so typical of Nails Inc.

Pictures all show two coats with top coat:

And that's the letter G done and dusted! As always, check the A to Z Blog Series hub page to see what the other lovely ladies have done this week (and previous weeks too), and come back next week for another installment :)

Darling Diva "Happy Wife Happy Life"

Late night, picture-heavy NOTD post today featuring my newest polish baby, Darling Diva "Happy Wife Happy Life".

"Happy Wife Happy Life" is a clear-based multi-chrome glitter with the strongest, most amazing colour shifts I have ever seen. The glitter particles are packed in really densely so you could possibly wear this on its own with two or three coats, but in order to achieve the strongest effect possible I have applied it over a black base, which I do with most duo-/multi-chrome polishes. Formula was nice and fluid, application was easy peasy, and it dried quickly to a smooth finish.

All pictures show two coats over a black base, with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat, in a variety of different lighting situations in order to try and show all the colours. Enjoy!

What do you think? My mind is blown like it's never been blown before, this is honestly one of the most incredible polishes I own!

LaFemme "Lilac Cream" & Saffron "67" NOTD

Hello friends, happy Sunday! Just a little NOTD post for you today, featuring two of the cheapest polishes in my collection - hopefully this will prove you don't have to spend a lot to achieve a pretty nail look :)

I started with two coats of LaFemme "Lilac Cream", a warm, pinkish lilac with an absolutely gorgeous formula:

Then I added two coats of Saffron colour "67", a really festive clear-based glitter topper with a variety of bits - red, blue, pink, and gold - in differing shapes and sizes. This one needed a little bit of fishing around in order to get a decent coverage (pictured with top coat):

And then I of course finished with my beloved, discontinued Rimmel Matte Top Coat -I have just started my one remaining bottle - after that, I'm all out. Sad times :( :

And there you go, that's what's on my nails today. I really love how this looks mattified, it cuts out the reflection, thus allowing the colours of the glitter to really stand out :)

A To Z: F is for Forest.... And Fantasy Fire!

Hiiii guuuyyyss! Week six in the A to Z series already, oh me oh my!

I have chosen not one, but two polishes beginning with F today, because I am pretty indecisive and just want to wear ALL THE POLISH.

I started off with two coats of Nubar "Forest", a beautiful forest green creme with a lovely formula:

I then added two coats of Max Factor "Fantasy Fire", a sheer blueish purple base with duochromatic shimmer which shifts from copper through gold to green. You may think it odd to layer a purple over a green, but the base of Fantasy Fire is so sheer that it can be layered over all sorts of colours and completely change the look, it is so versatile - look how it gives a burning, glowing effect to "Forest":

I then went a step too far and added a layer of matte top coat. Don't get me wrong, it still looks beautiful and heaven knows I love my matte finishes, but I honestly preferred it glossy this time. Ah well!

A To Z: E is for "Elderberry"

Hi friends! My apologies, this was supposed to be posted yesterday but I had a pretty eventful day and my laptop is on the blink, so I delayed it a day.

It's week five of the A to Z series, so that means we are on the letter E! I had something else planned but changed my mind at the last minute, and went for Barry M "Elderberry" Gelly Nail Paint, which is a slightly dirty, dusty sky blue shade with a hint of grey, and it just so happens to match perfectly with the top I bought yesterday!

Here are two coats of Elderberry with no top coat:

And matching my top:

I then added one coat of Iconic Effect Holo Top Coat, and finished with my current quick-dry top coat, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri:

A to Z: D is for "Don't Stop Me Now"

Hey you guys! Today I have the next installment of the A to Z blog series for you! It's week four (can you believe it?!) so that means we are on the letter D.

For this manicure I chose Pocket Money Polishes "Don't Stop Me Now", which is a clear-based glitter topper consisting different shapes, sizes, and colours including silver holo stars and blue, yellow, red, and pink squares, strands, and hexes.

I layered one coat of "Don't Stop Me Now" over a black base, Kate Spade by Nails Inc "New York Noir", and finished with top coat.

Here is "New York Noir" on its own first - two coats, no top coat:

And here is the final look - one coat of Pocket Money Polishes "Don't Stop Me Now" over the black base, with top coat:

What do you think? I had a few different base colours in mind, but with the help of my lovely friend Hayley, I opted for black and I think it works really well - the colours really stand out against it!

A to Z: C is for "Caipirinha"

Hello! It's Thursday, so that means A to Z day!

Last week's post had ALL THE FAFFAGE, so I decided to keep it simple this week and go for a one-polish manicure. "Caipirinha" is from Freckles Polish's recent Happy Hour Holos collection, and is a bright, fresh spring green with a very pretty linear holographic finish. It is named after a cocktail (as the whole collection is) but I don't drink - I'm guessing a Caipirinha is green!

Pictures all show two coats, plus top coat:

What do you think? I love a good green, and I love a good holo. Put them together and I can't fail to be delighted :)

Check the A to Z blog series hub page to see what everybody else has done for the letter C, and don't forget to come back next Thursday for the letter D!
