Green with envy!

Green nails. There is nothing I love more, and I don't think you could get much greener than today's NOTD!

I started with two coats of Collection Hot Looks "Look At Me", a bright, acidic green creme:

And then I added one coat of Rainbow Polish "Envy" - a glitter topper which I love so much I broke my self-imposed back-up ban for recently - I don't ever want to run out!

Do you love green nail polish as much as I do? What is your favourite colour to wear on your nails?

Thanks for reading, and come back again soon :) x

Nubar Wildlife NOTD

A quick and simple NOTD post for you today, featuring my oldest and most favourite duochrome polish: Nubar "Wildlife". The colour shift is very strong, moving from a beautiful pinky bronze right through to an intense green.

Pictures show two coats of Wildlife over a black base (that is invariably how I prefer to wear duochromes), with base & top coat:

Pocket Money Polishes "Starry Starry Night"

Hi dearies, happy Friday!

Got a truly lovely polish to show you today. Pocket Money Polishes "Starry Starry Night" is a glitter topper, consisting of a clear base with small blue glitter particles, even smaller holographic gold glitter particles, and medium white stars. Application was easy peasy - the ratio of "bits" to "base" is pretty spot-on, meaning I needed only one coat to achieve an even coverage with at least one star per nail, with no fishing required. I think part of the success comes down to the small bottle size - there's nowhere for those bigger star particles to "hide" in the bottle meaning they are right there ready to be painted. I decided to apply it over a navy creme base (Barielle "Berry Blue") in order to achieve a "traditional" starry sky appearance.

Pictures show one coat of Barielle "Berry Blue" with one coat of Pocket Money Polishes "Starry Starry Night", with top coat (Seche Vite, which I have only recently started using and which I am not entirely off my knockers with glee with):

I purchased this polish from Pocket Money Polishes' retail website - if you like it, why not check it out?

Glossy vs Matte

It is surely no secret that I love matte manicures, and it would be fair to say that lots of other people do too - some of my most popular manicures recently have involved matte top coat. So with that in mind, I thought I would do a little blog post to enable you to see just how much difference a matte top coat can make to the over-all look of a manicure. Enjoy!

Water Marbling

Hello again, dearies!

Today's NOTD is well out of my comfort zone in terms of techniques. I love the over-all finished look of water marbled nails, and have produced some quite satisfactory results in the past, but I'm sure you will all know where I'm coming from when I say I can not stand actually water marbling my nails. It makes such a mess, takes such a long time, is so very wasteful and and usually more miss than hit. However, with it being "Birthday Party Nails" theme week at All Things Nails, I decided to do something colourful, which also has a bit of meaning behind it. When I was young, my best friend (at the time) always used to have these amazing balloons at her birthday parties - they were just bright, colourful, wonderful creations with marbled patterns all over them, so I tried to recreate that on my nails.

Here are the end results!

Base: Opi "Alpine Snow"; marbling colours: Nails Inc "Cumberland Street", Collection "Look At Me", Barry M "Plum" Gelly Nail Paint; glitter (to blur the bubbles/messy bits): China Glaze "Fairy Dust".

As you can see, it is far from perfect, but I achieved the look I had aimed to create and I am happy with this manicure. Are you a fan of water marbling?

Color Club "Blue-ming" and Stamping With MoYou

Hello everybody, happy Saturday! I have a random NOTD post for you today!

Today's polish is Color Club "Blue-ming". Until a few minutes ago, I was unsure as to what it was, as it has no label, but a little digging in the internets (and having already ruled out New Bohemian, which seems too dirty and dark in comparison with this) has revealed that it is "Blue-ming". Hooray! It is a bight, fresh aqua creme - very similar to Nails Inc "Royal Botanical Gardens" - but slightly more green.

My pictures show two coats, with base & top coat:

Now, it's stamping time!! I ordered some MoYou plates last month and after a looooong wait, they finally arrived today, so of course I had to christen them! I chose to use a lovely floral design from MoYou Pro XL plate 06, and Nails Inc "Covent Garden", and finished with top coat:

Do you have any MoYou plates? What do you think of them? I am very impressed so far, although I feel a bit daft - since I ordered them, my nails have been shortened drastically, so the XL images are now a bit big to say the least! No matter, I'd rather them be too big than too small and at least I will still be able to use them if my nails ever manage to grow long again!

Thanks for reading, and come back again soon :) xx
